Online menswear brand, Spoke, raises $1.8m in funding round led by Oxford Capital

UK-based startup Spoke, an online clothing brand making better fitting menswear, has closed a $1.8m funding round. The round was led by VC firm Oxford Capital, with Forward Partners, Seedcamp and a number of angel investors.

Launched by entrepreneur Ben Farren in 2014, Spoke has carved out a sweet spot between ‘bespoke’ and ‘ready to wear’, cutting clothes in more sizes and finishing them to order, for a flawless fit.

SPOKE grew five times in 2015, and trebled revenues again in the first half of 2016. The company website,, serves 500,000 visitors annually – and in total, the business has sold more than 30,000 pairs of chinos in 30 countries around the world.

The $1.8m capital injection will enable the business to develop and grow its product range and extend its reach to global shoppers.
